Barb Farner has increased her interest in genealogy during the past year. That is an area where one can spend a lot of time! She is also working to improve her skills in quilting even more, and has attended the National Quilt Show in Paducah, KY which is held every year in April.
She also helps her mother who is now over 90 and in the nursing home. There were a couple of weddings in her family as a niece and a nephew got married--not to each other, of course!
Barb has also been to a fashion exhibit in Chicago, and visited Jananne Finck during the winter in Texas. She was planning a five days trip to New York last summer as well.

Need to Update Campus Mail Password
There is an important announcement on the U of I e-mail, that everyone needs to update their password. Evidently there have been some security issues. The change needs to be accomplished by June 7th.
So check your e-mail and follow the directions from the note sent on May 17th. You will need to log in at cites.illinois.edu and proceed from there.
After June 7th, access will be denied, so it is important to get this done in the next few days.

100 Years of Extension Celebration in Southern Illinois
Extension's 100 Year Celebration in Southern Illinois was held in Mt. Vernon on May 2nd. According to my count, there were about 30 people in attendance. Larry Casey served as MC, and it looks like he is in the middle of a good story in this photo.
Those pictured (photo above) include Patti Faughn--retiring at the end of May--Linda Crawl Jackson, Bob Frank, Walt Townsend, Harold and Mrs. Hunzicker, Shirley Martin Prewitt, and Glen Sons. It was Glen's 93rd birthday!
In this photo--Jane Casey, Dr. George Czapar, current Director of Extension, Pam Jacobs, Ruth Hambleton, Melinda States, and Bev Combs.
Others who attended included Martha Speir, Ruby Lingle, Rachelle Hollinshead, Dennis Epplin, Patti Fitzpatrick, Dale Law, Denise Banes, Mrs. Glen Sons, Bob Walker, Charlie Willman, Paula Hatfield, Treasa Brookman, Tom Saxe, Paul Wirth, and Joy Richey.
It was an enjoyable day of good food and fellowship. Thanks to those who organized it and made it happen.
