Difficult Times in Extension

Secretarial layoffs and bumping are in progress. It appears that many offices will no longer be open full time. The situation changes each day. As one individual makes a decision, it changes the options for another.

On Friday, May 13 most Community Workers received notice that their job was ending June 30th. They may re-apply to work as Program Assistants or Program Coordinators. The Community Worker position will be terminated. Many are not sure that the new assignments can be completed in time to handle 4-H Fairs in July. It may be a hectic summer!

We are hearing that some local funding is in jeopardy until County Boards learn for sure what is happening with their local office. State funds are not definite either, though some positive progress has been made. Hang in there everyone!
