A Bit of Insurance Information

I was finally able to talk to the person listed as the contact on our CMS benefit reports yesterday. Some of you may have done the same since the printout didn't seem quite accurate.

I was told that Federal retirees will not have to pay a portion of their insurance (as has been stated by some recent legislation) because the state does not pay our premium--the University does.

I'm not sure if the same is true for those on SURS. Contact me at ieafcslife@gmail.com if you have questions--or additional information.

Have a great day!

Have A Great Memorial Day!

Here are some Memorial Day thoughts. Hope everyone is feeling rich in some way today!

OMG, I'm Rich!

Silver in the Hair
Gold in the Teeth
Crystals in the Kidneys
Sugar in the Blood
Lead in the -----
Iron in the Arteries
And an inexhaustible supply of Natural Gas

I never thought I'd accumulate such wealth!

Sounds like several staff members are getting I-pads.

Some are saying that Dr. Hoeft has indicated that he is retiring at the end of 2012. He has been touring the state and will be in southern Illinois next week.

Watch for information soon about the Southern Illinois Extension Retirees Fish Fry at Rend Lake on June 21st.

Foot Challenge & a Couple Other Thoughts

It's strawberry time! Hope everyone is enjoying a plentiful supply of this delicious fruit.

I have done a little research concerning the proposal for state retirees to pay part of their health insurance premium. Other than the initial news releases concerning this, I have not been able to find any figures on how things may be calculated. I guess--stay tuned. It may not even happen.

Here is an experiment sent by Martha Speir for us all to try. Interesting!

HOW  SMART  IS  YOUR  RIGHT  FOOT?

This is hysterical. You have to try this. It is absolutely true. I guess there are some things that the brain cannot handle.

HOW  SMART  IS  YOUR  RIGHT  FOOT?

You have to try this please, it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe it!!!
It is from an orthopedic surgeon................This will boggle your mind
And it will keep you trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart
Your foot, but, you can't.
It's pre-programmed in your brain!

1).
Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY....) and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with your foot.

2). Now, while doing this, draw the number '
6' in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction

  I told you so!!!

And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

Send it to your friends to frustrate them too.
