Southern Region Meets

Southern Region Extension Retirees met in Murphysboro on March 20, 2015. We enjoyed a delicious meal and took time to catch up on all the latest news--as well take care of a little business--at 17th Street Barbecue Restaurant. Then we had our history lesson for the day by touring the John A. Logan museum there. It is worth seeing. Very enlightening! Thanks to Carol Schlitt for making all the arrangements.

Those pictured are Patti Faughn, Milly Kaiser, Donna Rumsey, Rusti Grogan, Joyce Pyatt, Joy Richey,  Martha Speir,Carol Schlitt, and Ruby Lingle.

Plans were made for the Kentucky Derby trip--and Carol reported that we should hold the dates of Nov. 18-22 for Christmas in Nashville! She will have more details soon.

Also received an update concerning Diana Bartscht, who was featured in our last post. She is the sister of Patti McGlaughlin, who is still a member of the state 4-H staff in Illinois, and she had another sister, Joyce Roth Carson, who worked in Washington County as a youth adviser back in the late 70's and early 80's. Diana now lives in Indiana.
